I Love Horse Racing

Although I don't have much horse racing merchandise I figure I add that to my list of topics here to cover since I like going to the racetrack and betting the ponies. I have been to quite a few tracks here on the east coast and one day I will make it out to see some California racing.

My home track is Aqueduct and I usually do pretty good at handicapping the inner track during the winter months as speed usually takes the races. When the track is frozen it is usually hard for closers to gain any ground at the end of the races.

Since most of the smart trainers take their good horses down to Florida in the winter months it is easier to pick out the "also ran horses" at the track.

I have been to all three New York tracks Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga and I actually prefer Aqueduct over the other two. Most horse players would think I am nuts but hey to each their own. I like my little hole in the wall track.

I usually follow the horses down to Gulfstream around the last week in January as i get tired of watching the same old horses beat each other up here. Plus some sun never hurt anyone. In the summer I can be seen around Monmouth park near the Jersey shore. That is a really nice track if you ever get the pleasure of being near the Jersey shore you have to check it out.

The horse in the picture is the great Secretariat winning a triple crown race. I consider this horse to be the best athlete to ever play any sport. I just wish I was old enough to see that race live.

I have this picture up on my wall and it serves as a reminder to the glory days of New York racing.

On big racing days I usually post who I like to win on the sports blog. I usually get some good prices on horses that I pick.
